They’ve done it again!  Sunshrine has recently completed another new Renovation.  This time to their main floor Hair and Spa area!

     When Tammy and Ryan Blair opened Sunshrine on April 8^th, 2000, they never thought it would have grown so quickly!  Starting off in a rental unit in the Julianna plaza in Lakefield, they opened with tanning beds and a small amount of Esthetics services.  With tanning being their main focus, they thought they could provide Manicure and Pedicures in the off-season.  They also created two treatment rooms – one available for waxing and facials, while the other one was for Massage Therapy.  Not being long after their first Anniversary, they added another tanning bed and one more treatment room.  After three years of Esthetics and Tanning services, the demand for a Hair Studio was beating strong.  So, for wedding and prom season, Sunshrine would contract in local hairdressers to provide Updo’s in our unique environment.

 Right away, the connection was strong and Tammy and Ryan’s vision to provide a “one-stop” Day Spa & Salon was born!  With 21 Queen Street being a beautiful cornerstone building in the Village, they knew that they had put everything they had into it.  They had the privilege of designing a new floor plan and added a full service Hair Studio, Treatment Rooms with showers, Body Wraps, a Steam Room, Pedicure thrown’s and even brought a retail area in.  While the New Sunshrine was hopping and busier than ever, the small team of two went to a fabulous team of eighteen.

In November 2004, Tammy & Ryan had the pleasure of buying our beautiful building and became a commercial property owners and landlords to four apartments located above Sunshrine.  Business continued to grow and soon Sunshrine accepted the Business Beautification Award from the Chamber of Commerce.  New traveled fast…Now Sunshrine is known as the “Award Winning” tanning salon – no one thought they would make it!!

One year later, in February 2006, construction started on the second floor and the four apartments were removed.  In the expansion, Tammy and Ryan created room for the Couples Shrine, Laser Hair Removal, Microdermabrasion, Acne Clearance, a Lounge, and an Education Center!  The new Spa is bright and classy and brings Sunshrine up to 6,000 square feet, making us the Largest Day Spa & Salon in the Kawartha’s!
